Dalaroo Metals (ASX:DAL) field teams have started work at the Blue Lagoon Zirconium-Niobium-Rare Earths Project in Greenland, hunting “large and highly anomalous” targets in a “compelling” multi-commodity exploration.

The Australian explorer, which has seen relatively short price action on this exploration announcement, jumped to work after spotting potential bulk tonnage ‘placer’ type deposits.

“We are delighted our exploration team has been able to get on the ground in Greenland [to] undertake this initial work program and complete the technical due diligence,” said Dalaroo’s chairman, David Quinlivan, today.

Dalaroo’s team will run through everything from auger drilling and stream sediment investigating, to soil sampling, reconnaissance mapping, and sampling.

The former – auger drilling – will form a “key part” of this next Blue Lagoon program.

There’s an experienced head helming the search, too: Greenland geologist Ole Christiansen has been appointed to lead Dalaroo’s program; the explorer believes Mr Christiansen will be “instrumental” after leading several other materials hunts in Greenland, most recently at Critical Metal’s Tanbreez project.

He will oversee Dalaroo’s team through two work streams: The first will be the aforementioned auger drilling; the second will be geochemical sampling and prospecting.

Results from these early Blue Lagoon tests will then lead into follow-up field programs, Dalaroo explained. Should the results come in early enough, the company is even hoping to run a second field trip before the end of the field season. (Work in Greenland is possible through to around September each year.)

DAL has stayed around 3cps through to mid-arvo Thursday.
