The Australian company has already confirmed prospective structural trends and historic workings in the newly acquired ground and identified immediate priority targets for follow-up exploration. One of those targets is a previously defined one km plus silver-antimony soil anomaly associated with high-grade rock samples, including 8,760 grams per tonne (g/t) silver and +1% antimony.

Diablo’s CEO, Lyle Thorne, noted little historic exploration appears to have been completed in the area, despite the prospective geological setting.

“The increase in size at Star Range via the addition of Utah TLA Section 32 consolidates our tenure over similar geology to that seen at South Star,” he explained.

“The Star Range project is shaping to be an exciting project, and we plan to take advantage of the US government and the State of Utah’s desire to secure domestic critical mineral supplies by striving for exploration success through continued exploration by our experienced U.S. team.”

In addition to the existing BLM lode mining claims, further acreage has been secured through the addition of a Trust Lands Administration (TLA) lease from the State of Utah, increasing the project size to a total of 21.2 sq. km.

The project is located in the vicinity of two significant mineral occurrences, the historical Horn silver mine and the Milford copper mine.

Horn, located some 15 kilometres northwest of the project, was originally one of the largest producers of silver in the U.S. until around 1930. During its long 20th-century history, the mine produced as much as 17 million ounces of silver, 25,000 ounces of gold and nine million pounds of copper.

Closeby, Several open-pit copper deposits are currently being mined by Milford Mining around nine km north of the project area.

DBO is steady at 2.3cps today.
