Integrated services provider Downer announced its Defence Major Services Provider, Team Downer MSP, has been awarded a contract extension.

Team Downer MSP comprises Downer (including AGIS and Envista), SYSTRA Scott Lister, Providence Consulting Group and DXC Technology.

The contract extension is by the Capability, Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) to continue supporting the Critical Systems Branch (CSB) within the Joint Systems Division of the Department of Defence.

The extension is for an additional four years and is valued at $154.5 million. Team Downer MSP will continue to deliver its services until August 2023, however CASG will hold the option to extend services by another four years.

Depending on Team Downer MSP’s performance, there will be subsequent 12 monthly renewals.

The initial defence contract was announced in early February 2018.

Downer CEO of Engineering, Construction and Maintenance, Brendan Petersen, was pleased to collaborate with CASG.

“We are fully committed to the MSP arrangement and look forward to a successful collaboration with CASG, building on existing relationships and providing capability aligned with Defence’s overall acquisition and sustainment strategy,” he said.

CASG believes it benefits from Downer’s entire consortium.

AGIS, Envista, SYSTRA Scott Lister and Providence have the technical expertise in defence whereas Downer and DXC can support CASG with its broader industry experience, professionalism and scale.

Team Downer MSP has, and will continue to work closely with CSB to provide a range of services which significantly benefits the Department of Defence’s workforce.
