In the former case, having wrapped up a sample run on old surface tailings to now be processed, all cards in order, Pioneer will soon be demonstrating a potential pathway to tungsten production from North Pine.
As for Pioneer’s expansion of Silver Hills, an additional batch of fresh lode claims will ultimately grow the overall project boundary envelope.
Described as a ‘proven district’ – the company is adjacent to Resolution Minerals’ recently acquired processing mill, it reports – geotechs will be hopeful they can hit on geology that’s shown to be desirable before.
“The extensive sampling and mapping completed across key prospects provides us with valuable technical insight into the distribution and style of mineralisation in this highly prospective district, at the Northman Prospect, a potentially mineralised shear zone was identified at the location of a target,” PLN CEO Michael Beven said.
Tungsten, highly required in defence applications (and something of a latecomer to the critical minerals thematic when you consider antimony’s year-long stretch at the fore, rare earths’ recent developments, and so on) is the subject of a handful of companies both down under and overseas; Almonty Industries is the standout example and Resolution Minerals has been looking at tungsten lately, too.
PLN last traded at 20cps; shares were +5% higher in morning trade.
