Online education publisher KneoMedia (KNM) has confirmed a new U.S.$3 million deployment for the Connect ALL Kids initiative for New York City public schools.

KneoMedia’s share of this third deployment is US$780,000 (around A$994,000), coinciding with the new school year in New York starting in August 2021, with funds to be received concurrently.

Connect ALL Kids is an education initiative from KneoWorld, Dell Technologies and the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People (NAACP), to provide technology and content for public school students of all academic abilities.

The Connect ALL Kids program assists students who have fallen behind academically during the pandemic while schools have been closed, offering a cash injection for in-person teaching, funding and roll-out of previously stalled education programs.

Under the deployment, 5000 Dell Chromebooks, pre-loaded with the KneoWorld technology, will be provided to a number of New York City public schools. This will take the total device numbers to 8400 in over 70 schools.

The company says its immediate focus is to more comprehensively penetrate New York City’s 1720 public schools and achieve a presence outside of the area.

Direct-to-school sales of the KneoWorld software is also advancing, representing a second sales channel in the United States alongside Connect ALL Kids.

“With 2.6 million students across New York State, KneoMedia is presented with a major market opportunity to scale up operations and provide urgent education technology to those that require it most,” said Chief Executive Officer, James Kellett.

“With growing support from Dell and the NAACP and growing demand from teachers and students, we believe that the roll-out is just getting started as the demand for equal technology access continues to grow.”

KneoMedia is up 11.1 per cent, trading at 1 cent at 11:30 am AEST.
