Sonia Madigan:

We’re joining you from the floor at Kalgoorlie’s Diggers & Dealers Mining Forum and I’m with the Interim CEO of Lucapa Diamond Company, Nick Selby.

Welcome, Nick.

Nick Selby:

Hi, nice to meet you.

Sonia Madigan:

Now tell me, what do you hope to achieve being here at Diggers & Dealers?

Nick Selby:

Well, it’s the first time here at Diggers for Lucapa being a diamond company and until recently all our assets have been in Africa, and Diggers being a more Australian-esque kind of conference, we haven’t been here before.

So it’s nice to be here, I would just like to achieve introducing Lucapa Diamond Company to the rest of the Australian investors.

We’ve got a very exciting project in the Northern Territory, which I hope to bring to the market soon, and hopefully, people will walk away from this with a better understanding of diamonds in Australia.

Sonia Madigan:

Well just quickly, can you tell us about your key projects and where they’re at?

Nick Selby:

We’ve got two mining projects in Africa, one in Angola, and one in Lesotho, – two operational mines.

We have a third operation going in Angola, which is essentially Kimberlite exploration, and that’s been going for a couple of years.

Our fourth and largest project is Merlin, which we hope to get going in the not-too-distant future.

It’s sitting at a feasibility study situation at the moment and hopefully, by the end of this year, we’ll have that feasibility study published and then from there on we’ll see where we can take it from there.

It’s got legs, and it’s looking good, so hopefully take it into an operating mine, which will become Australia’s next diamond mine.

Sonia Madigan:

Well, thank you so much for speaking with us today, Nick Selby, the interim CEO of Lucapa Diamond Company.
