Accent Group (ASX:AX1) grabbed attention after Britain’s Frasers Group launched an unsolicited on-market takeover to acquire all Accent shares that Frasers and its associates do not already own for $0.65 cash per share. The firm’s share price soared after it received the $390.8 million takeover offer.

The board has urged shareholders to wait until they read Accent’s target statement before accepting or rejecting — and suggested they take no action. Accent Group owns more than 800 stores, 34 brands, and 35 online platforms.

At the time of going to press, AX1 was up +12.7%, to 73.3¢.

Elsewhere on HotCopper’s top trending pages, Ora Banda Mining (ASX:OBM) grabbed attention after it executed a $233 million engineering, procurement and construction contract with GR Engineering Services (ASX:GNG) for a 3.0 Mtpa processing plant as part of the Davyhurst Mill Expansion Project.

The scope of work comprises the design, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning for the project. OBM up +13.4%.

And, finally, Dreadnought Resources (ASX:DRE) has caught HotCopper forum buzz after ramping up exploration plans after obtaining strong results from first-pass, wide-spaced air core drilling at the Illaara gold project in WA.

The encouraging results date have led to planning for a follow-up to reduce spacing to 25–50m, which will commence immediately upon completion of the current program in June 2026. “Our first-pass, wide-spaced, air core drilling is off to a fantastic start with these results,” MD Dean Tuck said.

DRE was up +10.7%, to 1.6¢ mid-arvo on Monday.

Looking wider, the S&P/ASX 200 was up early, gaining 117.80 points. Gold and copper stocks have been heavily favoured, with the Oz market boosted by the U.S. and Iran likely signing a permanent peace pact.
