Dalaroo Metals (ASX: DAL) was up after it reported it had logged alteration and quartz–sulphide 1.25 km from the Wilfred discovery at the at Bondoukou Gold Ridge project in Côte d’Ivoire.

Logging has identified a 34m downhole interval of alteration and quartz veining from 62m to 96m, with locally stronger quartz–sulphide veining.

“Our first reported high-grade gold intersections at Wilfred established an exciting starting point for exploration at Gold Ridge,” CEO, John Morgan, said.

“The immediate priority is to establish, through laboratory assays and follow-up drilling, whether these geological features are associated with further gold mineralisation and how the system is oriented.”

DAL was up 21.7% to 14.0¢.

Po Valley Energy (ASX: PVE) was up after its board declared an unfranked interim dividend of $0.0004314 per ordinary share for the half-year ended 30 June 2026, representing a total distribution of approximately $500,000.

This dividend follows the company’s inaugural dividend paid in March 2026 and reflects free cash contribution from gas production at the group’s Podere Maiar 1 well in Italy and reflects the board’s commitment to returning cash to shareholders where the company’s performance and financial position allow.

For the half-year ended 30 June 2026, Po Valley Energy reported a net profit attributable to shareholders of €1.26 million, net cash from operating activities of €924,120 and had cash reserves of ~€2,7 million and short-term investments of around €6 million.

“The interim dividend reflects the continued contribution of Podere Maiar 1 and our commitment to returning cash to shareholders while retaining the capacity to progress our development plans,” chairman and CEO, Kevin Bailey, said.

PVE rose 6.38% to 10.0¢.

Omega Oil & Gas took off after announcing promising results from the Canyon-4 well in the Taroom Trough in Queensland.

Canyon-4, the second vertical well in its fully funded 2026/27 appraisal program on the eastern flank of the Taroom Trough, has continued to build the evidence for a continuous resource play in one of Australia’s “hottest” petroleum exploration regions.

“We’re very excited by the outstanding results of Canyon-4, which delivered the thickest sequence, most net pay and highest reservoir quality of any Canyon well to date,” CEO, Trevor Brown, said.

OMA jumped 16.9% to 76.0c.

Looking wider, the S&P/ASX 200 was up today, gaining 73.50 points or 0.84% to 8,790.10 and crossing above its 20-day moving average. Over the last five days, the index has gained 1.19% but is virtually unchanged year to date.

Elsewhere, the Victorian government has announced it will establish a Royalties for Regions program directing all minerals royalties to regional Victoria.

The Minerals Council of Australia says it reflects its policy suggestion to secure a fair deal for regional communities.

Mining is a regional industry employing and training regional Victorians, supporting local suppliers through buy local policies and investing in community support to the tune of $570 million per year.

With around $150 million in royalties being paid in Victoria currently, investing royalties in the regions will add to the positive economic impact of Victoria developing its rich endowment of gold and critical minerals.
