OD6 Metals Ltd (ASX:OD6) has identified a plethora of high-grade VMS (volcanogenic massive sulphide) copper targets at its Gulf Creek copper-zinc project near Barraba in New South Wales.

The targets were picked up through preliminary geophysical inversion modelling of drone magnetic data at the play, and they suggest the possibility that extensional and repeat high-grade VMS structures could occur at Gulf Creek, which is itself a VMS deposit.

They include the Gulf Creek Target- which is built around historic workings shown to be coincident with a highly magnetic core more than 100 metres long from surface to depths of more than 250 metres.

The Big Bend Target has a very high magnetism and coincident IP chargeability, with this being present from close to the surface to depths, while the NW Target shows intense magnetism over a space of 400 metres by 80 metres, modelled from near surface to depths.

Finally, a Deep Magnetic Target represents a large magnetic body measuring more than 650 metres by 350 metres at depth.

OD6 plans to roll out a drilling campaign next quarter, and will continue with fieldwork, sampling and planning activity.

Managing director Brett Hazelden said the results underpinned the value of this territory.

“Today’s geophysical results underline the significant, underexplored potential at scale, which exists across the historic Gulf Creek mine area,” he said.

“Gulf Creek has a strong magnetic association with high-grade copper in the massive magnetite-sulphide unit. Airborne magnetic surveys can reliably detect significant accumulations of magnetic material sub-surface and indicates compelling targets exist.”

OD6 has been trading at 4.1 cents.
