Red Mountain Mining (ASX:RMX) has today confirmed that there are indeed several “drill-ready” antimony targets at the Oaky Creek prospect, after the latest batch of analytical data came in from the comprehensive soil sampling the explorer’s been running at the Armidale project in New South Wales recently.

Those most recent field campaigns at Oaky Creek have identified a new stibnite vein rock sample returning an exceptionally high grade of 28.1% antimony.

This early March sample, which was picked up around 600 metres north-northwest of historical workings, suggests the mineralised system does actually extend further north than the Red Mountain team had originally assumed.

A previously spotted antimony-arsenic anomaly near Oaky Creek South has been extended by a further 30%, too, and remains open to the northeast.

“When considered collectively, the soil and rock chip results indicated a significant orogenic antimony mineral system with a strike extent of three kilometres, which is analogous to Larvotto’s Hillgrove Project, which lies east of Red Mountain’s project area,” the Oz company told shareholders today.

Red Mountain is still waiting for some 900 more samples collected through January and February in an infill auger soil sampling campaign. As many as 1,300 samples were collected from across the 3km strike.

Once those data points come back – the Aussie explorer says they’ll be in “by the end of March” – they will be folded into existing datasets to refine specific orogenic antimony vein targets. These will then be used to help prep for a planned phase of drill-testing that will be conducted in Q2 CY26.

Elsewhere, Red Mountain also has Thompson Falls assays coming in soon. That U.S. project has been slowly expanding early in the year.

Price-wise, RMX has opened +8.3% higher, at 2.6cps.
