Wellnex (ASX:WNX) has announced it’s seen the first prescriptions go live for its Wellness Life medicinal cannabis brand under the TGA’s Special Access Scheme (SAS).

Wellness Life has been made possible under a JV with OneLife Botanicals; through the TGA’s SAS, an entity called ‘The Entourage Effect’ is responsible for supplying pharmacies. Sales commenced in July.

Wellness Life also has two senior medical advisors now on board – one Dr. Mihindu Jayasuriya, and, Dr. Tony Farag.

The two doctors complement the previous appointment of Dr. Sylvia Victor, Wellnex stated on Friday.

“Dr Jayasuriya and Dr Farag have commenced training to select pharmacies on the medicinal cannabis market and more specifically on Wellness Life,” the company added.

Jayasuriya was described as the “former chief medical officer of Australia’s leading medical cannabis franchise groups;” Farag as “an experienced holistic medical doctor and pharmacist.”

WNX last traded at 2.3cps.
