Junior nickel and gold explorer Wildcat Resources (WC8) has posted results from its maiden drilling program the Mt Ardah Gold project in NSW.

Six holes were drilled to test a number of targets close to the Hobbs Pipe as well as testing three of the 10 induced polarisation (IP) targets identified by the company.

Wildcat highlighted fire assay results from its White Deer target, posting 11.35 metres at 0.59 g/t gold from 43.4 metres and 4.15 metres at 3.16 g/t gold from 137 metres.

Three holes, FRNDD014, FRNDD007 and FRNDD013, tested the White Deer target at 80-metre to 130-metre spacings along strike.

The fire assays were completed following anecdotal reports regarding the nugget-like nature of the gold found in some veins outside the Hobbs Pipe deposit.

In a statement, the Wildcat says the preliminary assays confirm the potential for high-grade gold mineralisation outside of the Hobbs Pipe intrusion.

The company completed phase one and two of exploration earlier in the year which entailed mapping, soil sampling and remodelling of historical IP targets.

Wildcat says it will inform the market once final results are determined. Modelling is also underway for the Bolt Cutter Gold Project in WA’s Pilbara region.

Company shares are down 11.3 per cent, trading at 3.6 cents each at 9:04 AEDT.
