Legacy Iron Ore (LCY) has received results from maiden drilling at the Sunrise Bore project in Western Australia.

The company conducted reverse circulation (RC) drilling at the project in June which included 17 holes for over 1100 metres.

Drilling was designed to test the auger soil and rotary air blast anomaly at the central part of the project.

Out of 17, only three holes returned mineralisation with the maximum value being 4.02 parts per million (ppm) gold.

This intercept comes from hole SBC03 which returned three metres at 2.06 grams of gold per tonne (g/t) from 47 metres including one metre at 4.02ppm gold. Another hole returned two metres at 0.95g/t gold from 53 metres including one metre at 1.26ppm gold.

LCY said the results highlighted the potential of gold mineralisation at Sunrise Bore.

The three holes which intersected mineralisation are along strike and covers around 900 metres of possible strike extension.

Legacy Iron Ore plans to further drill test the area to establish the mineralised ore body along strike and dip of the intercepts by early next year. Afterwards, it may drill test some other priority targets as well.

Company shares closed 7.69 per cent higher at 1.4 cents.
