SI6 Metals (SI6) has begun a 5000-metre aircore (AC) drilling program at its Monument Gold Project (MGP) in Western Australia.

The 310 square kilometre Monument Project lies in the world-class Laverton Gold District and consists of significant gold mineralisation and around 30 kilometres of relatively untested gold-hosted banded iron formation (BIF).

Drilling will span the full length of Monument from the Two Bills Prospect in the north to the southern tenement boundary.

This is SI6 Metals’ maiden aircore program and it will target high-level intrusives prospective for bulk tonnage gold mineralisation.

Roughly 125 holes will be drilled to test 25 of the 60 intrusive targets identified via geophysical interpretation and a detailed review of the historical database.

Drilling is estimated to take two weeks to complete with results expected to be received by mid-November.

Additionally, the drilling will be co-funded through the Western Australian Government’s Exploration Incentive Scheme with 50 per cent of costs of up $75,000 to be reimbursed to SI6 Metals.

SI6 Metals has ended the day 8.33 per cent in the red with shares trading at 1.1 cents in a $17.13 million market cap.
