  • Azure Minerals (AZS) intersects more mineralisation at the VC-07 East deposit within the Andover project in WA
  • The latest results confirm the nickel-sulphide deposit spans a 400-metre strike that extends to over 500 metres at depth and mineralisation remains open
  • Azure has drilled 111 holes at the project which will support a maiden mineral resource expected to be delivered in the first quarter of 2022

Azure Minerals (AZS) has intersected further mineralisation from its ongoing drilling program at the VC-07 East deposit within the Andover Project in Western Australia.

So far, 111 diamond holes, for 48,742 metres, have been drilled at Andover with 91 holes drilled at VC-07 East, 12 holes drilled at VC-07 West and the remaining eight holes were drilled at the VC-23 prospect.

Latest results include 18.7 metres at 1.51 per cent nickel, 0.6 per cent copper and 0.07 per cent cobalt from 342.2 metres. This includes 3.5 metres at 3.99 per cent nickel, 0.36 per cent copper and 0.16 per cent cobalt from 375.2 metres.

Encouragingly, one of the deepest holes drilled to date intersected a 30-metre wide mineralised zone containing massive, semi-massive, matrix and heavily disseminated nickel-copper sulphide mineralisation.

The infill aspect of drilling is designed to support the upcoming mineral resource estimate and has confirmed the continuity of mineralised thickness and grades.

Extensional drilling has confirmed the VC-07 East deposit has a 400-metre east-west strike and extends from within 40 metres of surface to a depth of more than 500 metres. Mineralisation remains open in several directions.

Managing Director Tony Rovira commented on the latest results.

“The mineral resource drilling of the Andover VC-07 East nickel-copper sulphide deposit continues to deliver substantial mineralised intersections from both in-fill and extensional drilling,” he said.

“We expect the VC-07 East resource drill-out to be completed within the next few weeks, with final assays likely to be delivered by early January and our maiden mineral resource estimate to be completed in the first quarter of 2022.”

Three rigs are currently operating to complete drilling in the next few weeks. Results for the remaining 34 completed holes are pending.

Company shares were up 6.67 per cent to trade at 32 cents at 2:47 pm AEDT.
