Sonia Madigan:
Joining me from the floor at Kalgoorlie Diggers & Dealers mining forum is Jeremy McManus.
Now he is the GM of Investor Relations for Neometals. Welcome Jeremy.
Jeremy McManus:
Thank you.
Sonia Madigan:
So what do you hope to achieve being here at the forum?
Jeremy McManus:
Really just raising awareness and making people aware of some of our different projects.
So we’ve got three different business units and the key thing that we’ll be speaking to with the MD Chris is our battery recycling endeavour.
Sonia Madigan:
Yeah, so you’re involved in lithium, but from a different angle to say the explorers, aren’t you?
Jeremy McManus:
Yeah, absolutely.
So it’s, you know, we talk to ourselves as being an enabler of sustainable battery materials production and as opposed to digging holes in the ground where sourcing feedstocks that are already above ground, and then using some technologies that we’ve developed to pull out those same battery metals, sans mining.
Sonia Madigan:
So how do you see the investor interest in this and and how do you see demand for your services?
Jeremy McManus:
Yeah, look investor interest is growing a lot in the sector for the fact that you know, we need to supplement mine supply with other sources, renewable more sustainable sources – so recycling is, you know, a big deal. It’s being legislated that you must have recycled content in new batteries and vehicles, so we’re being supported with those tailwinds a lot.
Sonia Madigan:
So, three days, lots of meetings, how does the business get done here?
Jeremy McManus:
Ah, look, it’s just rubbing shoulders and speaking with a lot of people and trying to
raise awareness. There are some investors floating around, there are industry people, so yeah, it’s a good opportunity.
Sonia Madigan:
Well, I wish you all the best, Jeremy McManus speaking for Neometals.
