The 2nd annual Super PITch event at Digger & Dealers in Kalgoorlie provides mining companies five minutes to “pitch” their company’s story to investors.
Created by Discovery Capital Partners and Corporate Storytime, this year’s event is sponsored by The Market Herald and RSM Australia
Sonia Madigan:
Joining me now is RSM’s Mining Sector Lead for Perth, Carl Di Lorenzo.
Now, RSM is a sponsor of the Super PITch event today, which is about to get underway.
Carl, tell us what you’ve been seeing here in Kalgoorlie. We’re one day down and we’re about to go into day two.
Carl Di Lorenzo:
Yeah, it’s been great. Look, I think it’s all about critical minerals and lithium. You can see definitely the transition to green metals and it’s more than mining. So it’s not just about the resource, it’s about the processing and the future market that our clients are gonna have to get into. So yeah, it’s all about critical minerals and lithium.
Sonia Madigan:
So what do you look for? What do you need to get from an event like this?
Carl Di Lorenzo:
Oh, look, it’s all about reconnecting with our clients and our future clients and just helping them through their challenges, through CapEx and through their operations as they continue to grow.
Sonia Madigan:
Now, of course, when you say clients, you’re talking companies.
Carl Di Lorenzo:
Yeah, so we focus on obviously the mining space in WA and Australia, as well as globally,
but also those support services that help our growing mining companies and exploration
companies grow on their journey.
Sonia Madigan:
And how do you feel about the conditions this year? We’re in 2023, we’re in August, how’s the sector looking?
Carl Di Lorenzo:
Look, I think it’s cautious, I think the capital markets are tightening up, and I think companies are very cautious on how they spend their money now, and definitely, people are concerned about what the future holds.
Sonia Madigan:
Well, thank you so much for the update. Carl Di Lorenzo speaking for RSM at the Kalgoorlie SuperPITch event.
