The 2nd annual Super PITch event at Digger & Dealers in Kalgoorlie provides mining companies five minutes to ‘pitch’ their company’s story to investors.

Created by Discovery Capital Partners and Corporate Storytime, this year’s event is sponsored by The Market Herald and RSM Australia

Sonia Madigan:

Joining me now from the Kalgoorlie Super PITch event is Justin Tremain from Turaco Gold (TCG).

Now, Justin, you are in the thick of drilling at the moment in West Africa.

Justin Tremain:

Yeah, that’s right. We’re in Côte d’Ivoire, or Ivory Coast, where we have the largest ground position of any company in the country, with about 7000 square kilometres and four projects, [and] we’re active across all four of those projects.

Sonia Madigan:

Now, tell me, how good or bad were those results?

Justin Tremain:

Well, they’ve been excellent.

We put this package of ground together 18 months ago with a management team that’s had prior success in West Africa and elsewhere, and we’ve already made a grassroots discovery ourselves which we call Satama, where we’ve drilled two kilometres of continuous mineralisation from surface down to about 120 metres.

We’ve only tested 50 per cent of the anomaly there – and that’s just on one of our projects.

Sonia Madigan:

So to be here at the Super PITch event but also more widely Diggers & Dealers – what do you hope to achieve?

Justin Tremain:

It’s really just getting exposure to a wider audience and getting our story [out there], and as I said, Turaco is quite a new company, it’s really been around for sort of 18 to 21 months and

it’s really just expanding our audience and making the market more aware of what we’re doing in West Africa as one of the most active explorers in West Africa.

Sonia Madigan:

Now you’re sitting around 5 cents on the market today, how do you feel about that price point?

Justin Tremain:

Oh sure, like every Managing Director, you’d say it’s too cheap, but we captured around $20 million, we recently raised a few million dollars, so we’re well funded and now it’s just for us to continue to deliver on the draw results, deliver maiden resources and continue to add value for our shareholders.

Sonia Madigan:

Right, so you’ve got one minute to pitch your company to us right now.

Justin Tremain:

Sure, Turaco is probably the most active company, exploration company, in West Africa.

[We’re] in Cote d’Ivoire, which we think is the premier jurisdiction in West Africa. West Africa has 60-plus 1 million ounce discoveries.

We think it’s the best place in the world to be – as a junior – to be looking for gold deposits. With a large package, and we’ve already demonstrated how potential that, how prospective that package of ground is.

It’s one thing to have a large package, but it needs to be very good ground.

It’s all across Birimian Greenstone Belts, and within our four projects we have [made] three gold discoveries, which, as I said at the start, we’ve got drilling active across all of those.
