Dreadnought Resources Ltd (ASX:DRE) has identified gossans with high grades of both precious and base metals through sampling at its Tiger prospect – part of the Mangaroon gold camp in Western Australia, including one grading almost 7.9 percent zinc, 30.5 grams per tonne of silver, 2.2 percent copper and 0.2 grams per tonne of gold.

The company was undertaking mapping of the camp – located in the state’s Gasgoyne region – when their team discovered gossans in stacked and sub-cropping formation over 150 metres of strike.

Three other samples from the exploration work yielded grades such as 1.9 percent copper, 17.5 percent zinc, 289.0 grams per tonne (g/t) silver and 0.3 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold; 1.4 percent copper, 27.1 percent zinc, 60.1g/t silver and 0.3g/t gold; and 1.1 percent copper, 0.2 percent zinc, 205.0g/t silver and 0.8g/t gold.

Other indications observed at the gossans suggest the possibility of a Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) system at the Tiger prospect – which would be the first identified in this region.

Rock chip and surface geochemical pathfinders include a strong bismuth-cadmium-indium-molybdenum-antimony-selenium-tin-tellurium correlation with the Cu-Zn-Ag-Au.

Managing director, Dean Tuck said Dreadnought was in a strong position to further delineate the mineralisation at Tiger.

“Identifying a potential high-grade VMS system at Tiger comes on the back of a competitive EIS grant and further underscores the potential of this area,” he said.

“Mapping, geochemical sampling and EM surveys are ongoing ahead of our planned 2024 drill programs.”

Dreadnought has been trading at 1.7 cents.
