Astral Resources (ASX:AAR) has highlighted a drill intercept only 3m in length but grading in at 177g/t gold from the latest run at its Feysville project just south of Kalgoorlie.
That came one from single drillhole, FRC378, which returned 12m at 7.26g/t gold from 23m depth; further down, 25m at 24.3g/t gold from 68m depth, and then finally, the high-grade 3m at 177g/t gold zone from 74m depth.
That was the best downhole result from 20 holes sunk at the project, with this latest run focusing on a prospect of interest within the larger Feysville package, Kamperman.
Other results included 12m at 1.96g/t gold from 20m depth and 4m at 2.95g/t gold from 61m depth.
Diamond drilling has now been slated for Kamperman in a bid to – hopefully, Astral says – replicate those results from FRC378. Geotechs also believe mineralisation at Kamperman remains open to the North.
“These latest holes at Kamperman continue to surprise to the upside – showing that there is a potentially very significant high-grade opportunity here that we are yet to unlock,” company chief Marc Dulcer said.
“Previous diamond drilling that was completed to better understand the potential orientation of this very high-grade zone was not successful; however, given the potential size of the prize, additional work is warranted.”
In the background, Astral’s larger Mandilla program remains in the stage of preparing a prefeas study.
AAR last traded at 12.5cps.
