American Tungsten & Antimony (ASX:AT4) has unveiled the results of its maiden drill run on-site at its United States digs at the Antimony Canyon, where it’s been hunting for critical defence metals, with the Australian company describing mineralogical outcomes on Wednesday as “high grade.”

The first-crack drilling turned up two samples headlined Tuesday: An 11 metre wide hit at 3.1% stibnite (with pockets of higher concentration) and an 8.5 metre section @ 2.7% stibnite, likewise, with higher concentrations throughout.

“First assays results [originate] from first pass shallow diamond drilling program [that] yielded high-grade antimony intersections from shallow depths, that suggest continuity within the mineralised stibnite system,” AT4 wrote of its results on Tuesday.

The company’s geoanalysis leads techs to believe the Idahoan project straddles a ‘flat-lying body’ of stibnite mineralisation, which would be a unique feature that likens the project more to those in the Chinese Xikuangshan Antimony District, which boasts the world’s largest known source of the metal.

“Mineralised widths at ACP surpass typical western antimony vein systems, which commonly average around 30 cm,” AT4 wrote, citing a CY17 study.

The company also explained: “Observed widths are more consistent with stratiform stibnite systems, where mineralised horizons usually range from 1 to 5 m, similar to those documented in the Xikuangshan Antimony District.”

Attention may now turn to ‘Little Emma,’ one of twenty historic mines on-site at which the company has previously collected high-grade grab samples for stibnite.

AT4 last traded at 13cps.
