Dalaroo Metals (ASX: DAL) has identified a new high-priority drill target at Bondoukou in Côte d’Ivoire. Geological mapping and reconnaissance rock-chip sampling have defined the Goldridge prospect as a large structurally controlled gold corridor extending ~2.5 kilometres in strike length and up to 400 metres wide.

Country and exploration manager, Frank Twum-Berima Bosompem, said the mineralised corridor forms part of a broader 9.5km long gold anomalous zone interpreted from aeromagnetic imagery and regional structural analysis.

“The results from the initial reconnaissance program at Bondoukou provide strong geological validation of the project’s prospectivity,” he said today.

“The spatial relationship between high-grade rock-chip results, quartz vein systems and extensive artisanal gold workings clearly highlights a structurally controlled gold system that extends over several kilometres.”

A total of 56 rock and saprolite samples were collected during the recent program and submitted for gold analysis. The results included eight samples grading around 0.5 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, spatially clustered along a well-defined structural trend, with high-grade values up to 17.95 g/t.

Field mapping suggests mineralisation is concentrated along a fold-limb structure proximal to a regional hinge zone, a setting commonly associated with significant orogenic gold deposits within the Birimian terrane of West Africa.

“With systematic soil geochemistry currently underway and drilling planned, we believe Bondoukou has the geological ingredients required to deliver a significant gold discovery,” Mr Bosompem explained.

In the lead-up to testing, Dalaroo is undertaking systematic soil geochemical sampling to identify the extension of the target corridor towards the NW and SE portions

The explorer also plans to complete detailed structural mapping and trenching-augering across the highest-grade rock-chip zones in the lead-up to a first-pass RC drill program to test the mineralised fold-limb target at depth.

“These programs will allow Dalaroo Metals to rapidly evaluate the scale, continuity and economic potential of the identified gold system,” Mr Bosompem said.

DAL is down -10.3%, to 5.2ps.
