  • Final assay result received for all 22 additional rock-chip channel samples collected in July
  • Screen fire assay returned high-grade gold from selected surface exposures and historic underground workings
  • Of the 22 channel samples, eight returned screen-fire-assay grades at or above 4.0 g/t
  • Results will be integrated with the drilling database

Pacific Resources (ASX: PXR) has received promising assay results from the rock-chip channel sampling program completed in July at the Snowstorm gold project in Victoria’s Eastern Goldfields.

The Watchlist — short video interviews with ASX leaders. Watch now.

The program comprised 22 channel samples collected from historic underground workings at Tom’s Tunnel and Darby’s Adit, from the road cutting at Rex’s Bath and from mineralised structures identified across the project.

The results confirm high-grade gold mineralisation at several locations, including a 2.0m channel averaging 9.54 grams per tonne (g/t) gold at Rex’s Bath and identify high-grade structures that have not previously been sampled underground.

Rex’s Bath returned 9.54 g/tnover 2.0m from three contiguous channel samples including 13.70 g/t over 0.5m.

Tom’s Tunnel, approximately 8.0m below Rex’s Bath and a few metres further south along strike, returned 0.35 g/t over 1.0m,

The main shear in Darby’s Adit returned 13.35 g/t over 0.5m.

Previous drilling is interpreted to indicate at least one steeply plunging higher-grade position on this shear beneath the adit level.

That interpretation is drawn from previously reported drilling. It is not a new drill result, and it is not a mineral resource.

“These results confirm high-grade gold at surface and in the historic underground workings at Snowstorm,” CEO, Andrew Fogg, said.

“A 2.0 metre channel at Rex’s Bath averaging 9.54 grams per tonne is a strong reconnaissance result, and SSS017, at 17.15 grams per tonne, is from a shear that has not previously been sampled underground.

“The screen fire assays indicate coarse gold. That is useful information for how we sample and for the metallurgical work still to be done. It is not, by itself, a recovery result. The next step is to integrate these channels with the drilling database from the previous owner and to define priority targets. These are early- stage exploration results. They are not a resource.”

PXR was steady at 0.1¢. Mkt cap $3.600M.
