Anglo Australian Resources (AAR) has updated the JORC 2012 compliant mineral resource estimate (MRE) for its Mandilla Gold Project (MGP).

Mandilla lies 70 kilometres south of Kalgoorlie and 25 kilometres southwest of Kambalda in Western Australia.

The MRE was prepared by independent consultants Cube Consulting and covers the Mandilla East and Mandilla South deposits.

It increased 33 per cent and totals 19.8 million tonnes at 1 gram of gold per tonne (g/t) for 664,600 ounces of contained gold.

This increase comes two months after AAR released its maiden MRE for Mandilla in May, providing strong encouragement that the company can continue to grow its mineral resource inventory.

Managing Director Marc Ducler stated that increasing the MRE was a fantastic result for the company.

“Achieving a 33 per cent increase in the Mandilla resource so quickly is a fantastic result,” Mr Ducler said.

“This significant upgrade to the recently published maiden MRE is testament to the success of our exploration and technical team’s efforts and gives us the confidence to continue an aggressive drilling effort aimed at supporting the development of an integrated Kalgoorlie-based gold business.”

AAR has now begun a 55,000-metre drilling program at the Mandilla and Feysville gold projects.

Reverse circulation drilling is underway with diamond drilling expected to begin in the September quarter and aircore drilling planned for the December quarter.

Shares in AAR were up 2.60 per cent and were trading at 7.9 cents at 1:17 pm AEST.
