Askari Metals (AS2) has received results from its inaugural field sampling and mapping program at its Horry Copper-Gold Project.

The Horry Project lies in the Kimberly mobile belt of Western Australia, roughly 90 kilometres southwest of Halls Creek.

Mapping and sampling began in mid-August and was undertaken by professional mapping geologist John Crossing to understand the controls of the mineralisation.

The rock chip samples returned excellent results for both copper and gold with up to 3.67 per cent copper and 13 grams of gold per tonne (g/t) identified.

The copper mineralisation has been mapped over a strike of more than 400 metres and remains open to the northeast and southwest.

The gold mineralisation has been mapped over a potential strike of roughly 450 metres and remains open.

The results received have verified the prospectivity and scale of the mineralising systems and identify a solid foundation for future work at Horry.

Askari now plans to undertake a detailed grid rock sampling program and a high-definition ground magnetic survey to outline the strike extent and direction of the mineralised structures.

Vice President of Exploration and Geology Johan Lembrechts commented on the program.

“It is important to note the aim of this program was to map the overall project area and collect rock chip samples for geological validation,” Mr Lembrechts commented.

“The fact that we have been able to identify mineralisation of this tenor is a significant positive and the next step for the company is to undertake a dedicated field sampling program to continue to define the widespread high-grade copper and gold mineralisation.”

“A dedicated field sampling program and geophysical survey are planned for the near future to give detailed coverage of these mineralised zones.”

Askari closed down 3.49 per cent at 20.8 cents per share.
