Black Cat Syndicate (BC8) has intersected up to 36.8 grams of gold per tonne (g/t) from Fingals Fortune at the Kal East Gold Project near Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.

The Kal East Gold Project consists of 756 square kilometres of highly prospective tenements and has a JORC 2012 mineral resource of 14.3 million tonnes at 2.2g/t gold for 1,024,000 ounces.

Infill and extensional reverse circulation (RC) drilling was undertaken between July and September 2021 with 55 holes, for 7827 metres, drilled.

Drilling was designed to infill the southern portion of Fingals Fortune and to allow resource upgrades to begin ahead of an ore reserve estimation.

Results have been received for 11 holes with the best result of one metre at 36.8g/t gold from 84 metres intersected.

Other results include two metres at 25.87g/t gold from 64 metres, one metre at 24.4g/t gold from 69 metres; and one metre at 12.3g/t gold from 53 metres.

Black Cat has so far drilled more than 65,000 metres this year and intends to drill a further 30,000 metres before the end of the year.

This drilling will consist of a mix of resource growth, discovery, and ore reserve conversion.

Additionally, mining is set to begin shortly and Managing Director Gareth Solly said initial mining is planned to start at the Myhree open pit in conjunction with Majestic underground, with mining at Fingals planned to follow Myhree.

“Therefore, ongoing high-grades at both Majestic and Fingals Fortune are significant,” he said.

Black Cat was down 2.28 per cent on the market with shares trading at 53.5 cents at 1:51 pm AEST.
