- Infill drilling across only 10% of area establishes Indicated resource
- Indicated MRE delineates 160 million tonnes at 1,700 ppm TREO
- Increased confidence in geological and grade continuity within the infill-drilled area
- MREOs represent approximately 25% of TREO
Critica (ASX: CRI) is confident it can add significantly to its updated mineral resource estimate (MRE) for the Jupiter rare earths project in WA with only 10% of the asset assessed to date.
The updated MRE incorporates the results of infill drilling on a 125m by 125m grid across approximately 10% of the Jupiter resource area, targeting a portion of the maiden Inferred mineral resource announced in February 2025.
At a 1,000 parts per million (ppm) total rare earth oxides (TREO) lower cut-off, the program has established an Indicated mineral resource of 160 million tonnes (Mt) at 1,700 ppm TREO.
CEO, Jacob Deysel, noted that the results represent approximately 10% of the total Jupiter resource tonnage.
“The delivery of Jupiter’s first Indicated mineral resource is an important milestone for the project and demonstrates the effectiveness of the targeted infill drilling completed over the past year,” he said.
“The results provide increased confidence in the geological and grade continuity of the infill-drilled area, while the vast majority of the Jupiter Resource remains classified as Inferred.
“This gives us confidence in our approach to progressively increasing resource confidence across Jupiter.”
Mr Deysel highlighted that the Indicated resource also contains a strong contribution from the key magnet rare earths neodymium, praseodymium, dysprosium and terbium, which together represent approximately 25% of TREO.
“A Jupiter scoping study is progressing and will be released shortly.”
Infill drilling was completed across approximately 3.3 sq. km of the Jupiter resource area.
The closer-spaced drilling has increased confidence in the geological interpretation and grade continuity within the infill-drilled area and supports classification of this portion of the resource as Indicated mineral resources.
The updated MRE supersedes the maiden Jupiter MRE announced in February 2025 of 1.8 billion tonnes (Bt) at 1,700 ppm TREO, entirely classified as Inferred.
Discovered in late 2023, the Jupiter clay-hosted REE deposit forms part of Critica’s 100%-owned Brothers Project, which currently covers approximately 1,700 sq. km of semi-contiguous granted exploration licences, located approximately 60 km west of Mount Magnet.
CRI was steady at 2.6¢ with a Mkt cap of $75.77M prior to markets opening.
