Dart Mining (DTM) has intersected encouraging copper-gold mineralisation from the Granite Flat Copper-Gold Porphyry Project in Victoria.
The company began a reverse circulation (RC) drill program to target porphyry and stockwork vein-style mineralisation.
To date, six RC holes, for 951 metres, have been drilled with a further 15 holes planned over the coming months.
Visible chalcopyrite and molybdenite were identified in the drill chips while several holes collared and terminated in mineralisation.
Best results include one metre at five grams per tonne of gold (g/t) from 126 metres; and 12 metres at 0.37g/t gold and 0.23 per cent copper from 26 metres.
Tungsten mineralisation was also encountered in hole EMRC05 which returned a result of seven metres at 0.12 per cent tungsten from 83 metres including one metre at 0.61 per cent tungsten.
Furthermore, up to 835 parts per million (ppm) molybdenum was intercepted.
Chairman James Chirnside said the company is encouraged by the results intersected.
“We are encouraged by the excellent results of Dart’s recent RC drilling program at Granite Flat,” Mr Chirnside said.
“Although we still have much to do, I think these results convey the real possibility of bulk tonnage – and most likely indicate peripheral mineralisation from a porphyry – mineralisation source.”
The remaining 15 RC holes will focus on exploring the central area of Granite Flat which shows the strongest porphyry potential.
Shares in Dart were down 12 per cent on the market and were trading at 11 cents at 1:43 pm AEST.
