  • 4,000m drilling campaign underway at Ibel South gold project
  • Drilling will focus on a range of high-grade anomalies
  • Multiple previous holes have ended in mineralised greywacke,
  • Field teams drilling on dual day/night shifts to maximise drilling efficiency.

Haranga Resources (ASX:HAR) is going deeper with its phase three, 4,000-metre RC drilling program underway at the Ibel South gold project in Senegal. This follows strong results from a first, shallower phase and phase two AC campaigns and extensive surface geochemical work, including termite mound sampling.

Chairman, Michael Davy, said the previous work successfully defined a structurally controlled gold system hosted within the targeted Birimian greywacke.

“This program marks an exciting new phase of growth at Ibel South as we transition from shallow AC drilling to RC drilling targeting high-grade down-dip extensions at TMS anomaly there,” the Haranga chief explained.

He continued: “Further, with access now established at TMS anomalies one and two, these compelling targets will also be tested for the first time.

“With only around 800m of an approximately five km anomalous corridor tested to date, we see significant potential to expand the system along strike and at depth. With drilling nearing completion at Lincoln, Haranga is advancing two high-grade gold projects in parallel, and I look forward to reporting near-term results and milestones from both projects in due course.”

To date, multiple shallow AC holes have ended in mineralised greywacke, reinforcing the need for deeper drilling to target the primary system.

RC drilling will be conducted at depths ranging from around 260 metres to 300 metres, with the program expected to be completed in approximately 25 days.

Haranga has contracted its field teams to operate on a dual day and night shift basis to maximise drilling productivity as it works towards deadlines. Drilling is being undertaken by Forage Technique Eau, the same contractor that recently successfully completed the phase one and phase two AC programs.

HAR is steady at 13.3¢. Mkt cap $58.90M.
