Krakatoa Resources (ASX: KTA) has reported further significant antimony and gold mineralisation from the second batch of assay results from its initial 2026 drilling program at the Zopkhito antimony-gold project in the Georgia region of eastern Europe.

The surface diamond drill holes intersected high-grade gold and antimony mineralisation in Vein 6, with strong results also from the underground core samples.
Additional mineralised zones within surface drill holes were assayed in the second batch, revealing a high grade gold system within an interpreted fault zone, previously not sampled.
“The latest assays from our 2026 drilling program continue to highlight the antimony and gold mineralisation at Zopkhito, with a standout intercept from the surface drilling in Vein 6 returning 5.61m at 3.31grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 4.28% antimony, with higher grades within the interval,” CEO, Mark Major, said.
“The underground results are also contributing to increasing our understanding of the broader vein system. The drilling program continues, with further samples at the laboratory, whilst we are also preparing for the next stage of metallurgical test work.
“Each phase of our exploration activity is designed to deliver a maiden JORC resource and confirm the potential of Zopkhito as a rare antimony project in Europe.”
Zopkhito hosts one of the highest-grade antimony foreign resource. Historically, the project was explored using adit development from 1930s up until the 1970s. During that time over 25km of adits had been developed throughout the area providing the backbone for exploration and future mining operations.
Surface and underground coring continue with a focus on expanding our coverage over the vein system. The third batch of core is at laboratory and preparations for further assays to be sent shortly. Assay results will be reported when received.
Metallurgical sampling collection has commenced, to initiate optimisation test work and studies to start in October. This work will form part of the broader development strategy for Zopkhito.
Environmental baseline studies and permitting activities continue concurrently, to provide further support for future project advancement.
