At The Bell — Aussie shares will open higher this morning, +0.5% in ASX 200 futures as the bourse braces for GDP data today. That economic print comes at 11.30AM, and may shake this green push a little, considering forecasts are tipping a not-insignificant slowdown caused by the U.S.-Iran war.

Hear from all the ASX-listed companies that were at the RIU Resources Round-Up in Sydney, right here on HotCopper.com. Over a dozen video interviews here.

Forecasts are aimed at a +0.5% quarterly rise in GDP, slowing from the 0.8% gain the previous quarter. Annually, GDP likely expanded ~2.6%.

U.S. stock indexes have been slightly up, mostly caught up in the excitement around those blockbuster SpaceX and Anthropic IPOs. Elon Musk’s spaceflight/AI company is the big one there, listing at $US1.75T next week.

Europe’s had a better day, too, with London’s FTSE up +0.3%; Stoxx +0.6%.

And oil remains at a one-week high as all the Middle East uncertainty keeps lingering.

ASX stocks to watch

Now, in Oz equities, Megaport (ASX:MP1) will be staying in its trading halt to manage an $827.3M raise. That cash will be to fund customer contracts, establish a GPU Pool, and “support future opportunities.”

In mining, Pioneer Minerals (ASX:PMM) has completed the “rehabilitation” and reopening of the historic Springfield Mine Road at North Pine in Idaho, and Latitude 66 (ASX:LAT) has defined strike at the Don Lode; it sits at ~500 metres strike and ~400 metres down-dip extent, and remains open.

And, IRIS Metals (ASX:IR1) is teed up to share its earnings today. If you want to hear more about that U.S.-focused explorer, I wrote up a deep dive on its State-side spearhead in a HotCopper special report this week.

Superloop (ASX:SLC) and Lottery Corp (ASX:TLC) are holding investor days.

Buck and ore

In forex, the Oz dollar buys US 71.8c.

Then to commodities, all in the greenback,

Brent Crude is up again, though just barely at +0.1% at $95.11 today,

Iron Ore is up +0.5%, at $105.10 a tonne in Singapore,

Gold flat, $4,498/ounce, and,

US natgas futures ~$3.16 per gigajoule.

That’s HotCopper‘s Market Open, I’m Isaac McIntyre – happy trading today.
