MetalsTech (MTC) has identified visible gold in hole UGA-17 at its Sturec Gold Mine in Slovakia.
The Sturec Mine lies 17 kilometres west of Branska Bystrica in Central Slovakia and has a JORC 2012 resource of 21.2 million tonnes at 1.5 grams of gold per tonne (g/t) and 11.6g/t silver.
Hole UGA-07 falls under MetalsTech’s phase two drilling program which began in August to increase the confidence of the geological interpretation of Drill Chamber 2.
It was drilled to a depth of 109.35 metres and was positioned as an infill hole at a high angle to UGA-14 which intersected up to 2.22g/t gold and 7.6g/t silver.
Visible gold was identified at 73.75 metres within quartz-filled vein breccia and rich in fine to very fine-grained sulphides.
This gold is less than 0.5 millimetres in size and is present as dispersed blebs with pyrite measuring up to 1.5 centimetres wide and 2.5 centimetres long.
Core from hole UGA-17 is currently being sampled and will be sent to the laboratory for analysis as soon as possible.
Drilling of hole UGA-18 is now underway.
Shares in MetalsTech were up 13.8 per cent on the market and were trading at 33 cents at 4:17 pm AEST.
