Warriedar Resources (ASX:WA8) has found multiple examples of gold mineralisation across several shears at the Golden Range project in Western Australia’s Murchison region. At the same time, the company has also picked up evidence of a new shear, based on drilling completed in late 2024.
WA8 undertook 58 holes in its maiden aircore drilling program (for 5,370 metres) to pin down the location of several regional shears under cover across the tenement.
Its greatest success was in delineating the Mougooderra Shear Zone (MSZ) – north of the Keronima deposit – in addition to picking up evidence of a splay east of MSZ, which had been interpreted but not proven.
The latter holds mineralisation at shallow depths, revealing six metres at 4.28 grams per tonne (g/t) from three metres.
Drilling at the MSZ yielded one metre at 3.50 g/t from 49 metres; an intercept that was both narrow and high-grade.
Managing director and CEO Amanda Buckingham said WA8 would be focusing on expanding what was known about gold in the Golden Range throughout 2025, after last year’s focus on the company’s flagship Ricardo deposit.
“The initial aircore drilling undertaken in the second half of last year was directed at utilising our growing pool of available geoscience data to test key structural zones in pursuit of the next significant discovery at Golden Range,” she said.
“We are very pleased with the enhanced delineation of the main MSZ and the proven existence of a new shear that also returned high-grade gold mineralisation.
“We look forward to further aircore drilling through 2025 in enhanced pursuit of new regional gold discoveries at Golden Range.”
WA8 has been trading at 4.7 cents.
