Frontier Resources (FNT) has intersected up to 14.5g/t of gold from the first field sampling program at the Saki prospect.

The Saki prospect is part of the 441.72 square kilometre Tolukuma Project which is located in Papua New Guinea, 70 kilometres north of the capital, Port Moresby.

This first field program was designed to expand and confirm known gold veins at Saki. Approximately 103 rock chip and float samples were taken.

Results confirm the highly mineralised nature of the gold system and extra drilling is planned to outline a JORC resource.

Significant results include 14.5g/t gold, 9.37g/t gold, 7.59g/t gold, and 6.57g/t gold.

A sample was taken 500 metres west of Saki and results show an area of gold mineralisation. This area also has anomalous barium mineralisation, returning results of up to 228 parts per million.

This requires follow-up sampling and mapping to outline any gold occurrences in the surrounding areas.

From this first program, Frontier also collected 142 soil samples and 117 trench samples. These results will be announced once the samples have been analysed.

The company will then speed up potential drill sites to expand its gold systems near the mine ML104.

These gold systems will become more valuable as the Papua New Guinea Government forges ahead with plans to re-open the mine and attract sizeable investment.

Frontier is currently down 5.56 per cent and shares are trading for 0.9 cents each at 1:31 pm AEST.
