Senex Energy has agreed on a domestic gas sales agreement for up to 3.25 petajoules of natural gas with CSR Limited. This agreement marks Senex’s first domestic gas contract from the Company’s Project Atlas project.
CSR plans to use the gas in three of its manufacturing plants in the South-East of Queensland. These plants make PGHbricks, Gyprock plasterboard, and Bradford insulation where 260 staff will work across the suburbs of Brendale, Coopers Plains, and Oxley.
This three-year agreement will see Senex supply CSR’s subsidiary: CSR Building Products Limited with 0.65 PJ of gas a year, which will commence on the 1 January 2020. If CSR chooses to, it can extend the agreement by a further two years.
Senex’s Managing Director and CEO Ian Davies has said the Company is “delighted to secure CSR as a customer and support this key Queensland manufacturer of essential building products.” Senex is also proud to be supporting local manufacturing and jobs.
