Koba Resources (ASX:KOB) has commenced its maiden 3,000m drilling program at the Mt Garnet tin-tungsten project in North Queensland.

The drill program will target a substantial 2.0km by 0.5km, high-tenor, tin-in-soil anomaly that corresponds with strong IP chargeability anomalies and extremely high-grade rock chip samples grading up to 21.3% tin at the Stannex prospect.

The recently defined, strong IP chargeability anomalies demonstrate strong lateral continuity and significant depth extent, highlighting the scale potential of the mineralised system to be drill tested at Stannex.

Drilling will also target high-grade mineralisation at the historic Gilmore mine that produced 26,169 tonnes at 7.3% tin.

“The drill program will initially target the high-priority Stannex prospect that presents as a well- defined drill target that extends over two km of strike, supported by coincident high tenor tin-in-soil anomalies, strong geophysical anomalies and high-grade surface mineralisation up to 21.3% tin,” MD and CEO, Ben Vallerine, said.

“The program will also target the nearby high-grade, historical Gilmore mine that produced 26,169 tonnes at 7.3% tin. Our initial drilling here will follow-up on multiple intersections of high-grade tin and tungsten mineralisation in limited previous drilling.”

Mr Vallerine said Koba is poised to significantly advance its tin-tungsten projects with high-impact exploration programs to be undertaken across multiple prospects providing a steady flow of exploration results. This includes:

• Koba’s maiden 3,000m drill program which is now underway at the high-priority Stannex prospect and the nearby Gilmore mine, targeting high-grade tin-tungsten mineralisation within the Mt Garnet tin-tungsten project.

• 3,000m drill program to commence at the high-priority Kitchener and Jiminy prospects within the Stannary Hills tin-tungsten project in Q3 following the completion of the drilling program at the Mt Garnet project.

• In addition, assay results from the recent tungsten-focused rock chip sampling program at the Mt Garnet tin-tungsten project are expected during July, with the program designed to further define the project’s tungsten potential.

KOB was down 3.13% to 3.1c. Mkt cap $9.141M.
