Good morning! The US NASDAQ hit a fresh record high overnight and that appears to have been enough to inject some optimism into the local share market.
ASX futures imply the local market will rise +0.4% for the Tuesday session, even as bond yields remain high along with oil prices.
As it stands, the ASX200 is up eight tenths of a percent over the last week but still down -3.5% over the last month. Still, that figure looked worse last week.
Looking at commodities as at 9.05am AEDT:
- Brent Crude @ US$100.22/bbl
- Gold @ US$4,143/oz
- Copper @ US$6.58/lb
- Silver @ US$61.06/oz
- Iron Ore @ US$91.80/tn

Itech Minerals‘ news of extensions to its known gold-antimony mineralisation also attracting attention,
ActivePort Group has secured an A$1M contract in Mumbai, and,
Sunshine Metals has extended gold mineralisation at its Sybil asset.
