Critical minerals smallcap Tivan (ASX:TVN) has today executed a Mineral Exploration Deed for the Sandover Fluorite Project in the Northern Territory in a deal that also includes the half-dozen tenements at the project.

The deed relates to Tivan’s exploration activities at the NT project, allowing the company to undertake site-based works – including, most importantly, the proposed drill program the explorer has been prepping since last November.

As well as the mining go-ahead, Tivan can now bring employees and workers on-site to begin staging; the company used that “economic participation” in the region as a strong reason to lock down the deed.

Tivan purchased the fluorite project ten months ago (sealing the deal in March) and has been working through these deeds and clearances ever since.

“We’re pleased to have secured a Mineral Exploration Deed for the Sandover Fluorite Project and extend our thanks to the Central Land Council for their active facilitation on country meetings with the traditional owners and native title holders in early July,” Tivan’s chairman, Grant Wilson, said today.

“We are looking forward to redeploying our geology team from Speewah… and closing out this big year for Tivan with our first real glimpse of the Sandover deposit.”

HotCopper understands the team being moved from Speewah should be on-site by October at the earliest. Once staged, Tivan will be looking to run a drilling campaign that stretches across 65 RC and diamond holes.

That plotted drill run follows several surface sampling programs that confirmed the presence of ultra-high-grade calcium fluorite over an extensive strike.

The last hurdle is final regulatory approval from the Northern Territory government; on that front, Tivan submitted an application under the Environmental Protection Act 2019 and expects to hear back soon.

TVN‘s deed approval was well-received, but led to little price action today.
