  • Talisman’s follow-up drilling to grow previously identified copper-gold targets.

  • Phase two AC drilling designed to extend mineralised trends.
  • The previous initial broad-spaced aircore drilling program in Dubbo had intersected anomalous pathfinder minerals.

Explorer Talisman Mining (ASX:TLM) has this week commenced a follow-up 4,500-metre aircore (AC) drilling program at its East Peak Hill project, 70 kilometres south-west of Dubbo in New South Wales.

The latest aircore campaign comes after Talisman recently achieved initial success in its maiden AC drilling program in February, testing pathfinder elements for the targeted gold and copper-gold mineralisation.

Phase one drill holes penetrated to the top of the underlying basement rocks and recorded anomalous pathfinder minerals like arsenic, antimony, bismuth, copper, zinc, and molybdenum on the eastern side of the interpreted intrusive rocks. Ore grade and anomalous grade gold intersections were recorded on line two.

In addition, Talisman’s early drilling intersected a horizontal blanket of elevated copper-cobalt-zinc mineralisation, with the explorer finding sporadic elevated gold-silver-arsenic and antimony further south on line seven.

The suite of pathfinder minerals and the alteration style across the drilling program is interpreted to be indicative of porphyry-style copper-gold mineralisation.

Notably, Talisman was unable to test potentially mineralised target positions in several drill lines in the phase one program due to temporary access restrictions.

The new AC drilling program is designed to extend a number of drill lines to the east across the potentially mineralised target position immediately north and south of line two, and extend a number of drill lines to the south from line seven to test a large geophysical feature immediately south of the 350m wide blanket of anomalous copper-cobalt-zinc-gold-arsenic-antimony previously intersected.

Drilling will also provide an initial test of a distinct geophysical feature within interpreted volcaniclastic rocks east of line three.

The current program consists of up to nine lines of AC drill fences to test the postulated north-south magnetic features and intersections of the feature with north-northeast trending structures, which are seen as key to the emplacement of gold and copper-gold. mineralisation in the district.

TLM will today open at 8.2¢. Mkt cap $15.44M.
