- Excellent results from maiden drilling at Barlee.
- Assay results received for all aircore drilling, five RC holes.
- Significant gold intercepts in range of holes.
- Remaining assays anticipated within next 10 days.
Duketon Mining (ASX:DKM) has had instant success in its maiden drilling at Barlee in Western Australia with a range of impressive intercepts. Amongst the highlights noted is “significant mineralisation” intersected in hole 26BAR005 at the Astro prospect.

Results included 24m at 0.79 grams per tonne from 24m, including 12m at 1.29 g/t from 28m, and 8m at 0.77g/t from 52m, including 2m at 1.97 g/t from 54m.
On the drill line to the south, ~400 metres away, drilling has intersected another significant assay at the bottom of hole 26BAC025, hitting 7m at 0.74 g/t from 76m, including 1m at 4.68 g/t at the bottom of the hole (from 82m).
At the Gromit prospect, aircore assays have returned anomalous mineralisation in several holes and, in particular, 26BAC068, which includes 4m at 0.53 g/t and 8m at 0.27 g/t.
The explorer’s managing director, Stuart Fogarty, said that, notably, there are reverse circulation drill holes on either side of this aircore hole that have intersected significant quartz veining. The assays for those holes are pending.
Duketon has now received 1000 assays from a total of 1,900 samples from the shallow aircore drillholes and five of the 26 RC drill holes that were completed.
“These first-ever drilling results from the Barlee gold project have exceeded our expectations and provide strong validation of the extensive gold anomalies identified through our geochemical programs,” Mr Fogarty said.
He continued: “The broad zones of gold mineralisation intersected at the Astro Prospect, including 24 metres at 0.8g/t gold and 8 metres at 0.8g/t gold in hole 26BAR005, are particularly encouraging given the Project has never previously been drilled and remains open in all directions.
“Importantly, the mineralisation has now been identified on multiple drill lines, with significant gold intersected approximately 400m south of the main Astro discovery, demonstrating the emerging scale of the system.
“At Gromit, while only aircore assays have been received to date, the anomalous gold results and associated quartz veining observed in adjacent RC holes provide further encouragement ahead of the receipt of remaining assay results.”
Mr Fogarty said the early results support the interpretation that UFF soil geochemistry has been highly effective in identifying concealed gold mineralisation at Barlee.
“We look forward to receiving the remaining assays over the coming days and recommencing follow-up drilling to systematically test the growing mineralised footprint at both Astro and Gromit,” he explained.
“In addition, approximately 70% of our current tenure remains untested by modern UFF geochemistry, while a further 12 km of prospective strike to the south is covered by tenement applications and is awaiting grant.
“We see a significant opportunity to continue expanding the project through both drilling and geochemical programs,” he concluded this morning.
DKM is steady at 12¢. Mkt cap $14.94M.
